Egypt's MSMEDA to Establish Permanent African Markets for SMEs
The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) in Egypt is creating a strategic plan to set up permanent African markets for Egyptian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to MSMEDA CEO Bassel Rahmy, this initiative aims to strengthen trade relationships across the continent. It will also help Egyptian entrepreneurs access Africa's natural resources for their production needs, promoting deeper economic integration in the region.

Rahmy made the announcement at the Builders of Trade Forum for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), where he highlighted MSMEDA's commitment to supporting small businesses through technical collaboration. He also noted that the agency prioritizes youth empowerment and entrepreneurship by working with various government bodies and partners.

The initiative aligns with Egypt's larger strategic goal of deepening cooperation with African nations in trade, investment, and enterprise development. Rahmy believes that such forums provide a valuable opportunity for Egyptian entrepreneurs to network, explore new markets, and learn from other successful development models in Africa.
