Cairo, June 4th – In a significant step towards national digital transformation and bolstering Egypt's medical tourism standing, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Entlaq, a prominent consulting and strategic studies firm. The signing took place at the EHA headquarters in Cairo.

EHA's Vision for Tech-Driven Healthcare and Entrepreneurship
Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that this partnership embodies EHA's forward-looking vision to build a healthcare system deeply rooted in technology and innovation. He highlighted that such collaborations are crucial for fostering an environment that empowers entrepreneurship and startups, particularly in healthtech and therapeutic tourism. He further stated that Entlaq, with its extensive network of partners and experts, will serve as a strategic arm for the Authority, opening new avenues for cooperation with the private sector and investment funds. The ultimate aim, he affirmed, is to create an integrated success story benefiting both Egyptian patients and the national economy.

"Through this partnership, we aspire to position Egypt as a regional hub for medical excellence and therapeutic tourism," Dr. El-Sobky added. This will involve developing innovative models that seamlessly integrate advanced care with robust technological infrastructure, leveraging EHA's internationally accredited facilities and Entlaq's specialized expertise.

Entlaq's Data-Driven Approach to Health Innovation
Mr. Mohamed Ehab Hafez, CEO of Entlaq, described the MoU as a strategic move towards building a more innovative and effective healthcare system in Egypt. He explained their methodology, which "begins with data-driven analysis and ends with solution generation." The first tangible outcome of this collaboration will be a specialized report analyzing the current landscape and identifying opportunities and gaps within Egypt's healthtech sector, serving as a vital knowledge base for policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Beyond research, the partnership will launch a national program dedicated to developing practical and innovative digital health solutions. Hafez stressed the importance of combining research-backed knowledge with enabling innovation. He asserted that Egypt is ideally positioned to become a leading medical tourism destination, citing over 40 internationally accredited hospitals offering services at 50–70% lower costs than in Europe or the U.S., with a target to welcome 500,000 medical tourists annually by 2025.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Shady Farhat, Head of EHA’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, and Mr. Mohamed Ehab Hafez, Entlaq’s CEO. The signing was attended by key figures from both organizations.
