Dr. Ahmed El Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare, and Mr. Mohamed Ali, CEO and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt (ADIB), met to discuss a strategic partnership focused on healthcare investments and digital transformation.

Key Areas of Cooperation
The meeting, held at the Authority's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, covered several key areas:

Virtual Hospital and Digital Health: Supporting the launch and operation of a virtual hospital, a health data center, and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives in Ismailia. The goal is to create the first virtual hospital in Africa and the largest digital health hub in the Middle East.

Capacity Building: Developing specialized training programs for the Healthcare Authority's staff. These programs will focus on financial management, investment, and economic thinking to improve performance and ensure the sustainability of the organization.

Financial Inclusion: Partnering to promote financial and banking awareness, especially in Upper Egypt, to support the state's efforts for financial inclusion and the shift toward digital banking.

Support for Doctors and Staff: Exploring ways for banks to support young doctors through Central Bank initiatives and providing ATMs within health facilities in the second phase of the comprehensive health insurance system to facilitate salary payments for healthcare workers.

Partnership and Future Plans
The two parties have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to formalize their partnership. Dr. El Sobky stated that the Authority plans to announce a new public-private partnership model soon, which will open doors for banking and investment fund involvement.

Mr. Mohamed Ali of ADIB highlighted that the collaboration is a key step in supporting sustainable health investments and reflects the bank's commitment to social responsibility by improving healthcare services for citizens. He added that ADIB has a clear vision to support national projects and attract investments for Egypt's development efforts.
