PM: Grand Egyptian Museum opening delayed to late 2025

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) has been delayed until the final quarter of 2025. This postponement is a direct result of escalating regional instability and security concerns.

Madbouly explained that the ongoing conflict across the region necessitated this delay. The current situation would impact the international visibility and suitable atmosphere required for such a significant global cultural event.He noted that the conflict is expected to persist for several more weeks, overlapping with the museum's previously planned opening timeline. He stated that a new opening date will be determined based on developments in the coming months.
