Egypt to Launch 5G Services Wednesday

Egypt's National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is set to officially launch 5G mobile services nationwide on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
All four major mobile network operators in Egypt—Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, e& Egypt, and Telecom Egypt—will offer 5G to their customers. These companies have collectively invested $2.7 billion in 5G spectrum and licenses since 2019 to prepare for this rollout.
The launch event, which is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly and several ministers, will take place in the iconic Pyramids area.
The Transformative Impact of 5G
5G networks are poised to bring high-speed capabilities to telecommunications users, fostering innovation and development across a wide range of applications. This technology will also enable the simultaneous control of numerous devices, a crucial feature for groundbreaking applications in areas like smart cities, advanced healthcare services, and other cutting-edge uses.
Last October, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat underscored that 5G technology is expected to transform the national economy. He highlighted its potential to accelerate ongoing digital transformation efforts and improve Egypt's standing in international rankings within the communications and information technology sector.
