6 hours 48 min ago

The Egyptian Ministry of Finance and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) have signed a cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing private sector engagement and fostering entrepreneurship through supportive financial policies. As part of the FY2025/26 budget, approximately USD 100 million (EGP 5 billion) has been allocated to finance MSMEs, marking one of the strongest budgetary commitments to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk and MSMEDA CEO Bassel Rahmy emphasized that the protocol aligns with broader fiscal efforts to promote financial sustainability and stimulate startup activity. The funding will be directed toward accessible, soft financing solutions for young entrepreneurs, tax-facilitated beneficiaries, and businesses seeking to boost local manufacturing and exports.

Minister Kouchouk noted that this initiative will also extend support to early adopters of the simplified and unified tax system, providing cost-effective financing tools to encourage formalization and productivity. Rahmy praised the Ministry’s forward-looking approach, highlighting its potential to open new pathways for youth-led enterprise development and economic empowerment.
