Before next October: Egypt PM Decides to Require any Administration to Register in the E-Invoice System

Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that the Prime Minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, issued act No. 1602 of 2021, on the basis of the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers. The law requires local administrative units, public service and economic bodies, other public legal persons, public sector companies, public business companies, holding companies and their subsidiaries, and companies that the state contributes to their capital with more than 50%  to register in the E-invoice system of the Egyptian Tax Service before 1st of next October. Organs and companies of a private nature are excepted of this Act based on the approval of the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Finance stated that, in accordance with the Prime Minister decision, units of the State administrative apparatus, units of local administration, public service and economic bodies, other public legal persons, public sector companies, public business companies, holding companies and their subsidiaries, companies in which the State and other public legal persons contribute more than 50% of their capital, are prohibited from contracting with any supplier or contractor from all sectors of the national economy, of any kind, unless this contractor is registered in the E-invoice system of the Egyptian Tax Service, effective 1st  October 2021.
