How Technology Transforms our Homes

Internet of things (IoT) is a technology that transforms any object into a smart one by embedding in it an electronic device with sensors, computing power and connecting it to the internet. This paper discusses the benefits of adopting this technology in Smart Homes from environmental and societal aspects, e.g. energy efficiency, and assisting impaired people and, increasing safety perspectives. It also addresses the main risk associated with such use of this technology which is data security.
