$450,000 Raised by Garment IO as a Seed Round from 500 Startups and Egypt Ventures

Garment IO, a SaaS startup that helps garment factories boost their productivity by gathering live data from production lines and uncovering inefficiencies using IoT just raised $450000 from 500 Startups and Egypt Ventures. The startup was initially one of the 14 participants of 500 Startups’ MENA Dojo Series A Program in Q2 of 2019.

Garment IO offers a complete data ecosystem for your factory. The terminal unit of Garment IO is easily installed on all of machines in a factory. This units are cloud-connected. Then almost every action in any of the machines is logged, analyzed and reported to factory managers and supervisors through dashboards that you can track it on your mobile or computer in both English and Arabic. Garment IO offers many services that resulting in real-time and more accurate decision-‎making inside the factory, as: employee check-in and check-out, production order tracking, live transaction feed for completion of each batch by each worker and much more.

The startup was founded by Ahmed Nounou and Mahmoud Sabae in 2017. It was also incubated at the Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) and was from the last batch of startups to graduate from the incubation program. Some of Garment IO's latest highlights during their incubation include selling a contract for 1750 smart terminals, achieving $160K in ARR and 20% increase in productivity for the deployed factories. Most importantly, they hired 15 full-time employees and grew their team in Egypt.
