The International Space Apps Challenge -a NASA Open Innovation Initiative- is a two-day hackathon where teams of technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges. NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and over 100 local organizing teams across the globe.

For the second year, Cairo is taking part in the International Space Apps Challenge! Space Apps Cairo is the local hackathon held in Cairo that participates in the annual International Space Apps Challenge. And this year, more than 170 cities across the globe -including 3 more Egyptian cities alongside Cairo- are taking part.
